At least you don’t have to cut off your limbs to get into this Zaku Gundam.
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 561st edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll discuss one of P-Bandai’s latest Gunpla release announcements. Once again, P-Bandai has been active this week, announcing more new kits! However, this time, we have two kits from the SEED FREEDOM series: one announcement for the HGCE line and another for the RG line.
But for today’s segment, we’ll only focus on the one we all look forward to the most: the P-Bandai announcement of the RG kit.
So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?
RG 1/144 ZGMF-56E2/y Blast Impulse Gundam Spec II (RG)

Release Date: September 2024
Estimated price: JPY 4,400 (MYR 130.96* / USD 27.94* / EUR 25.65*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

We don’t want to start this segment with a sobre mood, but we need to start by saying this: we’re sad to inform you that we were one of those unfortunate ones who didn’t secure one for ourselves. However, it wasn’t due to us having to deal with the shopee bots; instead, we weren’t aware that P-Bandai had opened the PO window.
Typically, this would be the first thing we would get on top of, but unfortunately, life happens. So, none of us managed to get on the page in time before the preorder window closed.
But even with that said, we heard many shopee bot horror stories; most were about people who didn’t even get to the final purchase confirmation page because the P-Bandai Shopee page reached the PO limit while trying to pay.

Reading all the horror stories of people trying to get one makes us feel slightly better because we know that even if we are aware of the PO of this, we do not think we would fare better than the others.
But why are people (and scalpers) so keen on getting this kit?
It’s because we are getting another version of the fantastic RG Impulse!
Yes, that reason alone encourages people to get this, especially considering it is a fantastic kit.
But even with that said, this kit has many new things that make it worthwhile, such as the RG’s version of the Blast Silhouette backpack unit, which we find to be one of the most exciting bits of this particular release.
Why is this part the most exciting bit of this release?

Because we finally get to see how the Blast Silhouette looked in RG form! And my god, it looked perfect! Unlike the MG and the HGCE versions, the RG version of the Blast Silhouette looks more weighted, and the weapons look like they pack a punch. Even its beam effect for its beam javelin looked more rugged and badass than the clean beam effects we got for both the MG and HGCE versions.
But the best part about this release is that they finally added the badass Type 35 Advanced Railgun. We didn’t get this included with the RG Impulse Spec II release, so we are glad they finally included it in the RG Blast Impulse Spec II. It’s better late than ever.
But the thing that we love most about this release is the Blast Impulse Gundam Spec II’s color scheme.
Yes, we have seen this color scheme in the SEED FREEDOM movie before, and it looked good. But in Gunpla form, well, we think it looked even better! The color scheme we get here in RG form looked like a proper homage to the Zaku II, and I never imagined it would fit in so well on the RG Impulse.

Overall, it looks like a proper banger; unfortunately, if we want to get this as soon as possible, we won’t be able to use ordinary means.
We are not that keen on getting this kit through third-party resellers. But seeing how long P-Bandai takes to reopen POs for their reprints, we wonder if giving in for just this kit is better.
That concludes our 561st edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. What an announcement! Yes, we might not be able to get one for ourselves, but man, we did have a lot of fun looking at how good this looked and discussing what we think and feel about this release.
We have yet to get to one more P-Bandai exclusive Gundam SEED FREEDOM kit, and yes, this is another kit that we unfortunately missed.
Anyhow.
