HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 566th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll discuss one of The Gundam Base Limited side’s latest Gunpla release announcements. This week, we are seeing a lot of exciting releases out in the wild, and one of them was the RG Gundam Ver.2.0.

So, we find it interesting that the Gundam Base Limited side announced a special coated RG kit and had its release set in the same month as the RG Gundam Ver.2.0.

What makes it even more interesting is that the kit we’re talking about here is one of Char’s MSs that he used during the OYW.

So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?

RG 1/144 The Gundam Base Limited MSN-02 Zeong [Special Coating] (RG)

Release Date: 17th August 2024

Estimated price: JPY 13,200 (MYR 397.08* / USD 89.64* / EUR 81.38*)

Yes, in conjunction with the release of the RG Gundam Ver.2.0 in Japan, The Gundam Base Limited also decided to release the special coating version of the RG Zeong a week after the RG Gundam Ver.2.0’s release in Japan.

We do wonder why they decided to do so now. Why don’t they release this version along with the Special Coating version of the RG Gundam Ver.2.0 and sell them as a set with the same effect parts from the Last Shooting set included?

But even with that said, we admit that the Special Coating kit we got here isn’t all that bad since we are getting a special coating version of one of the best kits in 2021. And what’s more, the Special Coated version of the RG Zeong looks cool, too! This gives us an excellent reason to buy another version of the RG Zeong. But what we have here is more or less the same kit, just with a new coat of paint. So, we are not expecting Bandai to add new bits here.

But then again, does it matter? You’re getting a really good kit here. We are sure many of us here are looking for a good reason to add another RG Zeong to our collection, and the Gundam Base Limited chaps just gave us one.

The only thing that might turn people off from getting this version of the RG Zeong is the price point. Man, 13,200 for an RG kit is too much, especially when you can still buy the regular version for less than that. But that is why we figured the Gundam Base Limited made this for fans of RG Zeong and fans of Zeong’s MS design.

That is good enough for us.

This concludes the 566th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. It’s nice to finally have the time to talk about releases from the Gundam Base side.

It’s nice to take things easy every now and then. However, we hope that Bandai has something nice cooking in the kitchen for us in the coming months, not another P-Bandai exclusive kit.
