Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.567

Finally, it is an MS that the Chinese can be proud of!

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 567th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll discuss one of P-Bandai’s latest Gunpla release announcements. Apparently, P-Bandai just announced a new HGFC kit out of nowhere for us to feast our eyes on!

This time, we are getting one from the Neo-China side!

So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?

HG 1/144 GF13-011NC Dragon Gundam (HGFC)

Release Date: November 2024
Estimated price: JPY 3,960 (MYR 118.75* / USD 27.13* / EUR 24.39*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Honestly, we weren’t surprised that P-Bandai finally announced this kit. They have been entirely consistent with announcing new kits under their lineup, so yeah, we weren’t at all surprised.

But admittedly, we didn’t expect a new HGFC kit announcement from P-Bandai before the upcoming Bandai HOBBY NEW INFO reveal event.

Another thing that we were all quite surprised by was how good the kit looked.

Why are we surprised, you ask? Well, honestly? The Dragon Gundam wasn’t our favorite MS design from the G Gundam series, so we are amazed to find ourselves to like what we see here.

There is a good reason why.

We like the sharp, square-ish design of the HGFC Dragon here because it looks very similar to its anime counterpart. Honestly, we rarely encounter an HG kit that hits all the right notes with its Gunpla version, like the HGFC Dragon Gundam. Seeing how true it looks to the anime helps to win some brownie points.

Speaking about being anime-accurate, it also comes with a lot of accessories for us to play around with, which admittedly help reinforce the anime look even more. The one that impresses us the most is that they included the Shin Ryousei Kochouken special move effect part in this kit.

Why?

It’s because it is clear to us that P-Bandai went hard on the design of this effect part. Not every day, you get to see an effect part with two dragon heads and huge kanji letterings on it. Honestly? We can’t imagine anyone not impressed with what they see here.

They even included the six poles you can use as a handheld weapon. The poles are also there to help recreate one of Dragon Gundam’s signature moves in the anime. Heck, they even included a base stand for you to use to recreate that move and pose the HGFC Dragon Gundam.

Also, since this is an HGFC kit, it is unsurprising that Bandai ensured exceptional articulation for it. We’re honestly quite impressed with the number of poses that you can pull off here, and we are also impressed by the fact that even with all that armor, you can still pull off some crazy poses with this kit.

After seeing how badass this is, the only thing we wonder is how color-accurate it would be out of the box.

Why is this important?

We were impressed by how color-accurate the HGFC Rose Gundam was, so we are interested to see if P-Bandai will ensure that the HGFC Dragon is as impressive in that department, too.

But even with that said, we admit that even if it’s not as color-accurate as the HGFC Rose, we don’t think we mind it all that much since we are getting a lot of Gunpla here.

Now, all we have to do is fight to get one. Hopefully, we won’t have to build a huge skull-based mecha to get one.

This concludes the 567th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. The HGFC Dragon Gundam might be one of the most impressive P-Bandai kits we’ve seen this year.

Despite HGFC Dragon Gundam being a P-Bandai HG kit, it’s not every day we get an HG kit that we’re excited about.

Anyhow.
