The Clear-Colored Peacemaker
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 582nd edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll discuss one of The Gundam Base Limited’s latest Gunpla release announcements. The thing about this release is that amidst all the awesome Gunpla reveals from both the Retail and P-Bandai side, Gundam Base Limited quietly announced an MG kit that we didn’t expect to see getting that P-Bandai’s ‘clear-colored treatment.
But it is one that we admit that this is one release announcement most fans of this MS design will be pleased to see.
So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?
MG 1/100 The Gundam Base Limited GN-001 Gundam Exia (Clear Color Ver.) (MG)

Release Date: 26th October, 2024
Estimated price: JPY 7,170 (MYR 206.51* / USD 47.92* / EUR 44.13*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

I bet most of you didn’t expect to see the MG Exia finally getting that ‘clear-color’ Gundam Base treatment. Heck, even we here never imagined Bandai would ever give us one since the kit has been out for quite a while, and seeing that there is no indication that we would get this version besides the kuji variants we’ve been getting, we have kind of given up hope that we’ll ever see this version. However, we admit it’s not like we wanted one that much since we haven’t had the best of experiences dealing with kits with clear-colored parts.
But it is nice to know that Bandai was kind enough to give fans of the MG Exia another reason to buy another version.
But what are you getting here? Are you getting anything new?
Well, no, because technically, this is just a recolored (in clear color) version of the MG Exia. So, if you’re familiar with the standard kit, this is more and less the same thing.

So what’s the point of having this if what you get here is more or less the same as the retail version?
Well, if you’re getting a clear-colored HG kit, there isn’t really a good reason to get one since HGs don’t really have anything to offer underneath their hoods, not to mention the headache and heartache that one has to deal with when working on HG clear-colored parts.
But the opposite can be said for the Clear-Colored MG kits. There is always an excellent reason to get clear-colored MG kits, especially for those who enjoy seeing their MG kits’ insides and those who love inner frame painting and want a kit that could highlight their beautifully painted inner frames. Technically, since it’s only clear-colored (not entirely see-through transparent), you can’t see the insides in detail, but it does help to enhance the kit’s appearance when you display it for all to see.
We can understand why people want this version. We might not want to due to its fragile nature, but we get why people want one.

This concludes the 582nd edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. Admittedly, this is not the most exciting thing we’ve seen, but we are sure that the Gundam Base Limited chaps still have something interesting in the pipe that they have yet to make official.
We’re sure that sooner or later, we will hear some interesting end-of-the-year Gunpla release announcements from them soon enough.
Anyhow.
