Finally, a proper Zaku in TWFM
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 588th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll discuss our thoughts on P-Bandai’s recent Gunpla release announcements. Interestingly, we’re getting another Gunpla from the Witch from Mercury HG series, and we expect to see it get the Gunpla treatment—and also that P-Bandai treatment.
So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?
HG 1/144 MD-0021 Desultor (HGTWFM)

Release Date: February 2025
Estimated price: JPY 2,860 (MYR 83.88* / USD 18.95* / EUR 17.92*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

In a move that shocked nobody, P-Bandai finally revealed that they would be the ones to release a fan-favorite MS design from the Witch From Mercury anime series, the Desultor. It was so predictable that we wondered why they bothered taking this long to announce this kit.
But admittedly, we get why. Despite what we feel about this getting the P-Bandai treatment, we admit that P-Bandai did a great job translating the Desultor into Gunpla. It is clear that, for most parts, most of the HGTWFM Desultor is new, and you hardly see things you are familiar with here. Even though there are bits that are reused (like some sections from the armor and the feet units) from the HGTWFM Dilanza, P-Bandai’s work on the redesign is so good that you hardly notice it. So, good job there, P-Bandai.

What’s more, you also get a lot of stuff alongside this release, like three handheld weapons (one assault rifle, one bazooka, and one heat Knife), three mounted weapons (one three-tube missile launcher, one shoulder-mounted shield, and one missile pod), and one troop carrier.
Not to mention, the HGTWFM Desultor looks good as well. Heck, this might be our favorite TWFM MS Design that got the Gunpla treatment out of all we’ve seen. We are sure that those who watched the anime would love to have this one in their HGWTFM collection.

Honestly, it looked so badass that even those who haven’t watched the anime would be interested. This is why we are frustrated (but not shocked) by Bandai’s decision to have this release as a P-Bandai release. This would be one of those kits that would benefit Bandai as a retail release instead of a P-Bandai one.
But then again, we are not working for Bandai, so what do we know, eh?

So yes, this is going on our 2025 to-buy list, but whether we can buy at MSRP price remains to be seen since we have missed the PO window for this kit. But we do hope that P-Bandai would consider reopening the PO page for this kit again.
This concludes the 588th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. It’s nice that we finally get the Desultor as a Gunpla release, though it is a shame that we didn’t get it as a retail one.
But alas, at least we know it is coming next year.
Anyway.
We’ll return to the upcoming segment next Thursday (hopefully) with a new blog post. Yes, we will once again be taking a weekend off this week, but we will return next Thursday with a new post! So do look forward to that!
