Ground Control to Major Tom.
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 593rd edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll discuss two exciting EXPO Exclusive Entry Grades releases announced recently. One that isn’t really talked about much.
So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?
EG 1/144 RX-78F00/E Gundam (Entry Grade)

Release Date: April 2025
Estimated price: JPY 1,320 (MYR 37.48* / USD 8.39* / EUR 8.07*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Out of all the kits we’ve seen this year, we’re not that surprised to see the announcement for the Entry Grade version of the F00 Gundam. Why are we not surprised? Well, the reason is that the F00 Gundam is one of the most popular ones we’ve gotten in many years for non-canon MS designs.
But strangely enough, despite its popularity, we don’t see more people talking about this EXPO 2025 exclusive release.
But it is hard not to see why. Despite all the praise Gunpla builders have been showering the Entry-Grade kits with, most builders still don’t consider them worth their time. Admittedly, we were even skeptical about the entry-grade releases until we built one ourselves.
Honestly? More people should give the Entry Grade kits a chance.

Anyways, enough yapping from us. Let’s talk more about what we’re getting here?
Well, before we get to that point, we want to ask you, the readers, to imagine the insane detail of the F00 Gundam and imagine it turned into a 1/144 scale kit with god-level color-accurate parts that could be easily worked on with or without modeling tools, regardless of skill level.
That, my friends, is what you’re getting here.
But admittedly, this isn’t different from what we get with the original EG Gundam release. The only thing that is different here, we suspect, is just the detail and design of the parts. But we don’t think working on this would be any different than compared to the EG Gundam.
It makes sense why they decided to make this an EXPO Exclusive kit.
But it’s not to say that they didn’t make any improvements. They did. The minor improvement that makes this kit much better than the OG EG Gundam is its manipulator design.
What makes it better, you ask?

The intricate design and attention to detail make this look so much better, especially when you see how incredible the detail was on the EG F00 Gundam’s beam rifle fixed manipulator mold. The designers of this kit go to great lengths to make it look like it was adequately gripping a beam rifle’s pistol grip with the trigger finger molded to look ready to squeeze down the trigger, unlike the OG EG Gunda’s, where the manipulator set looked like it was holding a stick.
Yes, it is a minor complaint that we had with the EG Gundam, but it bothered us when we first saw it, which killed our interest in getting it in the first place. So, we are thankful that the EG F00 Gundam finally addressed that issue for us.

But that is not the only reason we are interested in getting this. Now, we will move on to the other reason why we are looking forward to getting this version.
EG 1/144 RX-78F00/E Gundam Option Parts set (EX-001 Glass Feather Equipment) (Entry Grade)

Release Date: April 2025
Estimated price: JPY 1,100 (MYR 31.16* / USD 6.99* / EUR 6.72*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Yes, it comes with one of the most glorious armor sets we’ve seen a Gundam get.
Admittedly, the Glass Feather Equipment does make the F00 Gundam look ridiculous, stupid, and funny all at the same time. But honestly? We love how silly it all looked here. We need more things like this for our Gunplas.
The armor looks impractically huge but, at the same time, quite impressive. However, it makes the F00 Gundam look more like an astronaut (or, considering its size, a space station with legs) than an MS.
But admittedly, we are more interested in the lore behind this upgrade because it doesn’t seem designed for battle. It looks like space exploration equipment, but we might be wrong.

Our only complaint about this release is that some sections of the EG Glass Feather Equipment look like Bnadai glued some cheap SD kit parts on it. What do we mean by this? Well, some sections had obvious cavities on some parts, which is distracting. We usually don’t mind it as much, considering that this is an EG kit, but when the cavities are apparent, it is quite challenging not to be bothered by it.
Yes, you can always fill the cavities with putty, but we shouldn’t have to when Bandai could just as easily design a mold with the part looking complete.
But even with that said, we are interested in getting this despite its apparent flaws, and we hope that by supporting this, Bandai will consider making a proper HG version that fixes all of these glaring issues.

This concludes the 593rd edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. What a kit to talk about to end the year with. Admittedly, 2024 has been a challenging year for all of us, and we hope we will have a better year ahead in 2025.
Hopefully, 2025 will be the year we get to see more MG, RG, and, hopefully, PG releases.
Anyways
