Its the Last ones, we promise!
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 604th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll cover the last two Gunpla release announcements from the recent Hobby New Event a few weeks back.
Funnily enough, the last two releases we’ll discuss today are not that interesting to us. No, it’s not because we think they are bad kits; it’s just that we are not that interested in getting them at the moment.
So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?
MGSD XVX-016 Gundam Aerial (MGSD)

Release Date: August 2025
Estimated price: JPY 4,290 (MYR 127.99* / USD 28.76* / EUR 26.62*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

When we said we wanted an MG Aerial, we meant we wanted an MG kit, not an MGSD.
So imagine how pissed we were at first (before we saw the teaser) to see no new proper MG kit for us, the MG fans.
But even that said, we are impressed by what we saw here. Looking at the MGSD Aerial’s promotional materials, Bandai once again proves they can make something look fantastic inside and out using the MG Design method, even in SD format. In which makes us wonder, why don’t they put the same amount of work we see here in the MGSD Aerial into a proper MG Aerial instead?

Anyways, let’s not get ourselves sidetracked again, eh?
Admittedly, we can see that Bandai nails the MGSD Aerial’s inner frame part looks, with all of them looking to get different colored parts. Also, Bandai made sure the MGSD Aerial would get the incredible Permet Score gimmick included here. And just like the Full-Mechanics version, Bandai assured us that the MGSD Aerial’s Permet score plates are swappable like the Full-Mechanics’s version, so you can easily convert your MGSD Aerial into the standard version or to the Permet Score 6 Version by simply swapping the parts up.

Also, it is nice to see the MGSD Aerial getting the same fully articulated deformed limbs treatment as the other entries, which means you can pull off a lot of dynamic poses with your MGSD Aerial. However, unlike the other MGSD’s previous entries, where the limbs look a bit off, the MGSD Aerial’s deformed limbs don’t look weird; in fact, we would even go as far as to say that this is the best-looking MGSD kit we’ve seen.
Many of us here are not keen on getting this, just because we prefer getting the standard MG kit rather than the MGSD.
But even with that said, we still hope that this sells well. It will help to convince Bandai to give us the proper MG treatment for the Aerial finally.

RG 1/144 XXXG-00W0 Gundam Wing Zero (RG)

Release Date: September 2025
Estimated price: JPY 4,620 (MYR 137.84* / USD 30.97* / EUR 28.67*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Honestly?
The RG Wing Gundam Zero looked fantastic in its promotional materials. We even watched Bandai’s video showcase of this kit and thought it looked promising.
Heck, they even managed to make the RG Wing Gundam Zero look badass here, and honestly? We wouldn’t be surprised if it even managed to reel in some new fans based on its looks alone. There is so much to love about this kit that we are confident that this will be another badass RG kit.
Why are we giving it praise on this despite not being interested in it?
Well, to be honest? We are sick of seeing Bandai churning out another new variant of the Wing Gundam Zero. There are other Gundams from other series that still haven’t gotten a proper RG treatment, and here they are churning out another RG Wing Gundam Zero kit.

Once again, let us not deviate and not let anger cloud our judgment here. Let’s now talk positives, shall we?
Despite our reservations about seeing another RG Wing Gundam Zero variant, we admit that based on our recent experience working on the RG Wing Gundam (not the EW version), we have a feeling that this will be a good one. We also look forward to seeing how much more detailed the RG Gundam Wing Zero’s inner-frame bits will look in the new version.
Also, we love the RG Wing Gundam Zero’s backpack vernier gimmick! With a flick of a knob, you can have it in either undeployed to deployed mode. Seeing the incredible backpack unit gimmick alone is enough to convince anyone to go out and pick this kit up. Because, man, we know we will have a lot of fun seeing how it works in real time.

Lastly, and if you are still not convinced, there is also the matter of how it looked. Because, man, they managed to make the TV version of the Wing Zero look badass.
And we are saying this from a nonfan perspective.
So, with all of this goodness, we are sure many have already preordered this kit and are looking forward to getting it. It might not be something that interests us, but there is no doubt that this is going to be a fantastic kit.

This concludes the 604th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. Finally, we will cover all the main retail releases for this quarter. We can move on to the new Gunpla teasers and the upcoming P-Bandai release in the next blog post!
