Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.607

Looks like the Graze a bit.

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 607th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll continue where we left off and discuss another P-Bandai release, this time their newest Gunpla release announcement.

And it is one that many of us here are very excited about.

So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?

Looks like a better version of the Graze

We really didn’t expect P-Bandai to announce this one.

We thought that with all the crazy HG kits they have been announcing this month, we weren’t expecting them to announce another one so soon after each other.

But it is clear that P-Bandai wants a stronger start this year, at least for HG kits.

Anyway, enough of that. Let us talk about this kit now, shall we?

We wanted to start this with a disclaimer: We are huge fans of the Doven Wolf MS design. It’s an MS design with a good blend of cool and wacky all-in-one elements.

But the thing is, we know that we are in the minority that shares this view. Not every Normie we know liked this MS design, and even we admit that we only liked it because we had watched the ZZ anime. So far, we have noticed that those who haven’t watched this show don’t really have the same appreciation for the Doven Wolf as we do.

But we are sure more people would appreciate the looks of this one

However, we can say for sure that the same isn’t true for this HGUC Reben Wolf. This is one MS design that we feel confident anyone who sees it would immediately fall in love with it.

Plus, since it looks so close to the Graze, it might as well entice fans of the IBO series to want to pick this one up, too, by just its looks alone.

So, you might wonder why we started this by discussing the Doven Wolf when we were supposed to be discussing the Reben Wolf.

Easy it because the Reben is just an upgraded version of the Doven in the lore. Why is this important to the Gunpla version, you ask? Usually, if the MS design in the lore is just an updated version of the old one, you can be sure that even in its Gunpla form, they will share the same DNA. Since this is P-Bandai, their laziness is well known.

Will this one suffer from P-Bandai’s laziness?

So, how much of HGUC Doven’s DNA can we see on the HGUC Reben?

Surprisingly?

From what we can gather from the HGUC Reben Wolf’s promotional materials, the only thing that the HGUC Reben Wolf inherited from the HGUC Doven Wolf is its joint system, some parts on the legs and arm unit. That is about it.

The rest? From what we can see here, it is new. But then again, it is expected since the Reben looks almost nothing like the Doven. Even with that said, we expect it to be like the redesigned AOZ HiZack. There are minor improvements to the DNA, but the rest is relatively the same.

Still, it is a lot of work from the P-Bandai side, so we are pretty impressed.

This might be one of the only HG kits that we can justify getting

All in all, we would be lying if we said that we are not looking forward to getting this one because the truth is we are. The only thing stopping us from getting this is that we are late to the party, and P-Bandai has already closed the PO page.

So, the only way to get this one now is if we decide to get it via the resellers, which we admit is not something we are interested in doing.

So, sadly, we have to wait.

its just too bad that we might have to wait for P-Bandai to relist this if we wanted to get this without having to break the bank

This concludes the 607th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. We are glad that we finally get to talk about this one. It has been haunting our dreams, so finally, being able to write about this is liberating.

Now, let’s move on to talk about the other P-Bandai HG kit that we find fascinating.

Hopefully, we won’t get some new announcements before we get to that discussion.

Anyways.

We’ll return to the upcoming segment next Thursday (hopefully, as long as Kimi’s health improves) with a new blog post! So, do look forward to that.
