Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.608

A chonky boy with his chonky axe.

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 608th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll continue where we left off with our discussion of P-Bandai’s latest Gunpla release announcements. There are two more kits to discuss, but we’ll focus on the one we are excited about: another P-Bandai HG kit release announcement.

So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?

Finally, the last one: After a somewhat long wait, P-Bandai finally delivered the last of the G-Unit Leo variants to fans of the series.

And the best part about this release?

Is that it looks badass!

But we are getting ahead of ourselves here.

Some of you here wonder what is new here. What makes this different from the bog standard HGAC Leo?

Well, even to an untrained eye, it is clear that we are getting a lot of new things here. But even with that said, we can still recognize that the HGAC Leo-N still inherited some of the HGAC Leo’s DNA, which we can see on the chest unit and some bits of the arm and leg units. We are sure it also inherited the same joint system, which is impressive, considering all the new bits it is getting.

Gloriously huge

However, it is also a testament to how well they designed the joint system of the bog standard kit, as there isn’t any need to make significant overhauls to it to accommodate new modified parts.

Now, let’s talk about the new bits we are getting here.

We love the bulky parts of the HGAC Leo-N. The chunky bits look fantastic, and it’s nice to see that despite their chunky appearance, they don’t interfere with the articulation.

We also LOVE the design of the HGAC Leo-N’s giant axe. It looks as good as the MG Dozel Zabi’s Zaku II giant heat hawk, though admittedly, we are concerned about how the gold bit would look in real life.

The gold bits look good here, though we doubt it would look this good irl

Actually, that is our only concern about this kit: the gold bits. Because we haven’t seen Bandai (and P-Bandai) has a good track record with both the quality and looks for gold-colored parts. Though it does look good in its promotional materials, we doubt whether it will look good in its unpainted state.

But even with that said, color-wise, it looks lore-accurate and awesome. Despite our reservations, we think the kit would still look superb in its unpainted state.

Overall, this does look promising. Though we had doubts about some parts of this kit, they weren’t enough to deter us from liking what we saw.

Really looking forward to be getting this one

Since this is based on one of our favorite HGAC kits of all time, we are sure it will be fantastic.

This concludes the 608th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. Finally, things are getting really quiet again, though we doubt it will be long.

There is still one more kit to discuss, and we can’t wait to get to it before we discuss other upcoming releases.

Anyways.

We’ll return to the upcoming segment this Saturday (hopefully, as long as Kimi’s health improves) with a new blog post! So, do look forward to that.
