Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.610

The beefcake skier Exia in RG form

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 610th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla post, we’ll discuss one of P-Bandai’s latest Gunpla release announcements. Interestingly, we are getting two 00 Gunpla release announcements! But in today’s blog post, we will discuss one of them first.

And the one we are covering today is one we expected to see in its RG form.

So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?

Chonky Skier

To say that we are surprised to see the RG version of the Gundam Avalanche Exia Dash is inaccurate because, seeing how popular the Avalanche Exia MS designs are with new and old builders, we expected P-Bandai to eventually make that announcement for the RG release after the retail side released the RG Exia.

The only thing we aren’t sure of is when we will get the new version—oh, speaking of the latest version.

Technically, if you are already very familiar with the RG Exia, we suspect that you will find that most of this kit is more or less the same, since we are sure that P-Bandai reuses most of RG Exia in this kit.

The best Exia variant is finally in RG form

But even with that said, we are curious to see how the new bits will work on the OG RG Exia parts. Will they work well on the old RG Exia bits without eventually giving in to the sheer weight the new parts will add to the base kit?

Or will P-Bandai upgrade some parts of the kit so that the base parts can support all the added weight of the new P-Bandai additions?

We’ll see when we have it, hopefully this coming June.

When one beam saber is not enough

Although we are still uncertain about this upcoming release, one thing is sure: it’s war-winning looks. Yes, we are once again P-Bandai dropped another good-looking kit, which is insane, considering that P-Bandai has been announcing one good-looking kit after another.

Though we are familiar with the design of the Avalanche Exia Dash by now, we admit that the RG version looks excellent. The level of detail seen on the RG Avalance Exia Dash’s parts is outstanding here, and it is hard to find faults with the new bits when they look this good. We just hope that all these new bits will work well with the old RG Exia’s frame because it would be a damn shame if all of these handsome bits don’t work well on the RG Exia.

Though it is nice of them to give this a stand but at the same time it is a bit concerning that it needed one in the first place

We are surprised that even though all the new bits make the Avalanche Exia look bulkier, all that mass doesn’t hamper the articulation of its limbs. But then again, it shouldn’t be that surprising since even the MG version still has quite decent articulation. One should expect P-Bandai to ensure we get the same level of articulation here.

You might be one chonky boy, but you are a beautiful chonky boy

As we mentioned previously, the only concern is whether all that new mass will stress the reused RG Exia frame.

Overall, this looks promising, and we are impressed by what we see here. We look forward to it, but only if P-Bandai reopens a new preorder window for this upcoming kit since we are not willing to spend a fortune to get the Avalanche Exia Dash.

This concludes the 610th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. We admit that even though we are not surprised by the announcement of the RG Gundam Avalanche Exia Dash, we find ourselves quite pleasantly impressed by what P-Bandai shows here.

Anyways.

We’ll return to the upcoming segment next Thursday (hopefully, as long as Kimi’s health improves) with a new blog post! So, do look forward to that.
