Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.645

The light at the end of the Ver.Ka tunnel?

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 645th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll discuss the Retail side update teasers on one of the MG kits that they teased a few weeks back. No, we’re not talking about the MG SEED FREEDOM Astray; we are talking about the other MG release that is coming next year as well.

We think you guys know which one we’re referring to.

So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?

The real full-frontal

Yes, the retail side finally dropped some new info on the upcoming MG FA ZZ Ver.Ka. Even though all Bandai did this time was to show us how the prototype kit looked in the iconic FA ZZ color scheme, it was, funnily enough, enough to help confirm some of our suspicions that we think this will be just a recolored version of the 2020 MG FAZZ Ver.Ka with some new bits here and there.

Are we surprised? Not really. Lore-wise, it made sense since, technically, they are the same MS; the only difference here is that the FAZZ is the non-transformable version (the reason is to help Anaheim reduce the costs incurred during its development), while the FA ZZ is the version that can transform. So, it makes sense that we don’t really see much of a difference between this version and the 2020 MG FAZZ Ver.Ka.

it might be the same, but we really don’t mind it

However, we acknowledge that this is still just our speculation on the matter, as we haven’t received any definitive information about the final full release. However, based on what we can see here, we wouldn’t be surprised if it were essentially the same kit, just with some minor changes here and there.

But despite knowing that, would it stop us from getting this version? No, not really. To be honest, we really wouldn’t mind getting this, since we are a fan of both the 2017 MG ZZ Gundam and the 2020 MG FAZZ Ver.Ka.

What’s more, we do think that it looks good, and it would definitely be a nice one to pose next to the 2017 MG ZZ Gundam and the 2020 MG FAZZ Ver.Ka.

It might not be the MG G-Self Ver.Ka, but we’d prefer seeing more of this over seeing Bandai announce another version of the MG Wing Zero Ver.Ka or MG Unicorn Ver.Ka again.

Definately not a kit that we mind having copies of at our homebase

This concludes the 645th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. Despite our disappointment at seeing another MG Astray being announced instead of anything else. We admit that this piece of news from the 2025 All Japan Hobby Show does make us hopeful that we might be getting more Retail MG releases next year.

Next on the list, we will be talking about a P-Bandai release, and no, it’s not an MG release announcement. But still, it is a kit that we are expecting to see the announcement for.

Anyways, we will return again soon-ish with a new blog post, so do look forward to that!

Also, you might have noticed a slight change to our posts, which is because we recently added a donation tab to our posts to help keep this site running and also to possibly help fund our future Gunpla-related projects. However, we want to clarify to all of you here that even though we are adding a donation tab, that doesn’t mean that we will be placing any of our existing or future content behind a paywall. All of our content will remain free for everyone to access, regardless of whether you decide to donate to us or not.

But that doesn’t mean that we do not have anything special for those who helped us keep the site running. We do! However, we are still trying to finalize some things, and we will have something special planned for our donors! But for now, with everything that has been happening, we still need some time before we can confirm anything. We hope by November we can start revealing what we have to offer to our donors! So worry not!

Also, the main reason why we decided to add the donation tab is that after managing this blog with our funds for so long, we’ve found that even with ads, it hasn’t been enough to maintain the site without putting ourselves in debt. We have tried our best not to resort to this, since we are doing this blog for fun, and we really didn’t plan to earn money from doing this.

However, since the start of the year, we have been struggling financially to keep this site running, but despite facing a lot of difficulties, we refuse to give up on this site after putting so much work into it. Not to mention, we do not want to disappoint our loyal readers.

So that is why, for the first time after running this site for so long, we are finally asking for help from you, our readers.

If you appreciate what we do and want us to continue providing this content, we would greatly appreciate any support through donations to help keep us afloat.
