Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.26

The Sexy Edition

Hello and a very good day to all our awesome readers and visitors to our blog! We do hope you guys had an awesome start to your week and lo behold we are back with more P-Bandai news! In this volume we would be covering announcements that we didn’t manage to cover, that was funnily made side by side with the last week’s traditional gunpla retail release announcements for 2018.

The announcements made here is as well as impressive as the retail releases, to be honest. It’s a shame that we really didn’t manage to cram these in our last post. As well it is looking like we are going to have a lot in our hands too at the start of next year! We are getting ourselves more broke than ever at this rate, haha.

So, without further ado, let’s get to the announcements!

HG 1/144 GNX-803 GN-XIV Type.GBF (HGBF)

HG 1/144 GNX-803 GN-XIV Type.GBF (HGBF)

Release Date: 2018/02

Estimated price: JPY 2,160* (MYR 79.71* / USD $19.02*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation.

This time the Battlelouge episode gives us the best looking GN-X variant ever.

The first kit on the list is based on the 4th Episode of the Gundam Build fighters: Battlelouge episode. Announced together with the HG 1/144 GN-X Striker (HGBF) last week, the GN-XIV is made to be paired together with the GN-X Striker. Honestly looking that this kit really makes me crave for MORE GN-X kit on the market, because just look at this glorious thing.

Ho dem you are sexy

God, what a sexy thing this is. We don’t know if you guys would agree to this but to date 00 Gundam series has tons of sexy mecha designs to date! Even the ridiculous Mr.Bushido’s Mobile Suits looked awesome.

Oh damn, we should stop fangirling on the OO and get to the important bit. Haha. Though this kit might have some resemblance to the GN-X series but if you take a while to just stare at this, you might realize that it looked nothing similar to anything from the HG OO Gundam series. Well, you might be able to see some similarities here and there but overall? This looks like a new mold altogether, I do wonder why they make this into a P-Bandai release though?

In some ways, it looked like a mass production version of the 00 Gundam
and with this sword cements the look/feel of the mass production 00 Gundam

Regardless, the look and the color of this kit does look awesome. The GN-XIV does look a lot more aggressive compared to the GN-X Striker and with a more militaristic color it does look like a more serious mecha (Quite unfortunate that is was showcased in the Exia (PG) ad Battleouge episode, not in an official 00 anime). When we compare both the GN-X Striker and the GN-XIV it is really hard for us to say which in between the two looks better.

What we know for sure though, is that we are getting both of them and possibly more. haha

and will you look at the equipment this kit is getting?

HG 1/144 RGM-89DEW EWAC Jegan (HGUC)

HG 1/144 RGM-89DEW EWAC Jegan (HGUC)

Release Date: 2018/02

Estimated price: JPY 3,240* (MYR 119.56* / USD $28.53*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation.

It looks so thicc and that’s how I like them. Thicc and nice
Oh more of this sexiness

Next on the list is a kit that was a part of the Thanks Jegan Campaign by P-Bandai and my oh my what a Jegan that they announced this time. As how it was with the Guncannon Detector, ban….oh sorry P-Bandai takes an MS that had a very small role in the anime and finally gave them some proper gunpla treatment.

Looking at how much love the Unicorn series been getting for its grunt units I really wish that Bandai would take the same approach with all the other Grunt units for other series and Bandai honestly, please stop teasing us with HG Jegans and just give us an MG variant already.

AAAAAANNNYYYWWAAAYS, let’s talk more about this awesome looking Jegan shall we? The EWACS Jegan is probably is one of the biggest Jegan variants to date (we are excluding the P-Bandai RGM-89S Prototype Stark Jegan, because that Jegan looks huge because of the anti-ship missiles attached on the shoulder armor, not because of the fixed equipment’s unlike what you get on the EWACS Jegan). Looking at the Jegan there is nothing much that can be said for most of the parts, though that head part does look really good (not to mention huge as hell) and it looks to be supported by the backpack unit. We do wonder if this part can be lowered/adjusted if it does that would be really awesome indeed!

This pose is awesome as hell tbh.
and just look at all of that awesome looking types of equipment. This Jegan is getting.

Regardless, looking at the kit we do have some concerns on the gold parts on the Jegan’s visor and in some parts of its elongated head sensors. From the promotional still it does look like its painted on it doesn’t seem like Bandai was using (it’s famously shit) stickers for it, though that is unlikely that Bandai wouldn’t include the gold stickers in for this kit, but seeing how even Bandai not using it does make me wonder if the gold stickers part looks shit (We bet it does)  in the final release. It really makes us wonder why Bandai don’t just opt to just use gold/bright yellow clear parts for those areas. it would be a lot better for them and it would greatly improve the overall look of this Jegan.

As we were looking at the weapons system for the EWACS, it does seem like EWACS  inherited weapons system from all the previous retail unicorn HGUC Jegans (the ECOAS, Stark Jegans and etc) releases, but what sets it apart from the rest is most probably is the fixed camera/laser designator system attached to the EWACS. Those look awesome as hell and seeing how those weapons are not interfering with arm attachments for the EWACS Jegan, does make us look forward to the possibilities that can be had for this kit.

We are looking forward to modding this with the System Weapons series.

God this is the best looking Jegan Variants yet.
The weapons sets, the most least exciting parts of the EWACS, but this is a very heavily armed kit

By far out all the announcements we’ve heard so far and this is the only one that we are really looking forward to getting next year and have it placed with the other Jegans and GM’S in our collection.

MG 1/100 ZGMF-X13A Providence Gundam (Special Coating)

MG 1/100 ZGMF-X13A Providence Gundam (Special Coating)

Release Date: 2018/01

Estimated price: JPY 12,960* (MYR 478.24* / USD $114.13*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation.

The last one on the list is without a doubt, one of the best-looking ones we have laid our eyes on for a while. Usually, we don’t like the idea of getting some specially coated kits due to the fact that we can’t handle the pain if we botch the shiny looking parts but after looking at this we are considering our stance on this because just look at this:-

Shiny and blue, the best combo yet!

We are just so taken by how this kit looks, maybe the pain is worth going to for this? maybe?

As we take a more detailed look at this version of the Providence, we found that there isn’t anything new that P-Bandai put in making this kit unlike what you get with the MG Wing Gundam Zero Drei Zwerg (we talked about this kit back in our 24th episode), but unlike the MG Zero, the Providence just looks brilliant (well as well because under light it is quite brilliant too, haha) and unlike the MG Wing Zero we do see ourselves getting this one.

The other thing that we really liked about this kit is the fact that it comes complete with the effects attachments (even those things are made shiny and blue) and this is by far looking to be the most complete variant of the Providence to date. Things are looking really good for this one.

Yes, when we say complete it really is the most complete version.
Just look at all the stuff this kit comes with, and that shiny beam rifle? fuck yes!

Unfortunately, though, the only issue we had with and as well with all the other specially coated MG variants is the price. Like how it was with the MG Wing Gundam Zero Drei Zwerg, this is quite an expensive kit offered at 12,960 yen (not including shipping and the final marked up price when it hits your Hobby shops) the price alone might put a lot of people off. It’s really hard to justify the price even to those that haven’t owned any of the variation of the Providence, even for those that love the Providence that is less well off would really find the pricing here quite ridiculous.

Bandai really knows how to pull on to our heart-strings. God, this is so beautiful.

Though, the same cannot be said for you collectors and SEED super fans because this kit is a must own, without a doubt. By far the best looking and the most complete version of the Providence yet and for the super-rich fans that haven’t owned or to those (which is well off that is) that want more Providence this is really the kit for you.

For all of us here though? As per writing, we are making a list of what parts of our bodies we can sell to actually get this wonderful beautiful thing. 2018 haven’t even started but it has already made us a lot poorer, but this kit is definitely one that we don’t mind eating sand for.

Oh yes,  when you combine it with that stand? How can you not love this thing?

And god damn, that stand looks good.

  1. GN-X IV GBF Type I kinda want but also want an actual GN-X IV instead.

What’s the deal with all HG Jegans being P-Bandai? He’s probably the coolest EWAC MS out there and has a lot of new parts.

    Liked by 1 person

    1. I wondered why as well because as a retail release the EWACS Jegan would be an instant hit tbh. Then again that could be the reason why they put this as P-Bandai because they know it would be a hit.

I do agree on the GN-XIV, I want the real official kit as well, I guess we have to settle for the GBF version for now. Up until they give us the actual kit.
