Hello!

Kimi here and I’m back again this week with new Unboxing and First Impressions post for the very recently released Figure Rise Labo Fumina Hoshino! Yes, I finally got around to FINALLY talk about this kit/figure like thing. Originally I was planning for this to be a short review-esque thing….but after going through this kit, I figured that the LABO really deserves to be made into two parts.

Really, we realized that there is so much we need to talk about after really seeing this kit in a more upfront and personal manner.

But before we get to that, I should first disclose that I have always been a huge fan of plastic anime figures and have been an avid collector of the Good Smile’s Nendoroid Series. I actually planned to have the regular slot for plastic Figurine Model review side by side with the Gunpla kits that am currently doing for the blog.

However, due to the insane prices these things fetch over the as well expensive but still somewhat affordable Gunpla’s and not to mention the fact that due to my inexperience with the plastic Figurine Models, I really find myself having not many ideas of what to write about. Unlike the Gunplas where there is a lot of areas that you can easily cover. Yes, that is why it kind of put me off on ever having them featured in the blog at the time being.

Well, that is up until Bandai announced and released this Hybrid thing; the Figure Rise LABO Fumina Hoshino.

This is really one project that I really looking forward to! This was on the backlogs of other kits that have for weeks since getting it back in July and to finally get to it does brings a huge smile on my face.

Honestly, there is another reason why I was really excited to start work on this, besides the fact that this is my first ‘Build it yourself figurine’. The LABO’s box art has been one that made it such a struggle not to get to it too early. Even with them opted to go with just showing the kit/figurine upfront and center, Somehow Bandai really manages to make it work here. What’s more, by looking at the box so much more closely, I can’t help to feel like Bandai is really quite confident with it looking awesome and does seem like they are pretty proud of this one.

I honestly like the box seem to be bursting out of confidence by Bandai and I commend the way they just made it so HARD to ignore. Though it does have a simple design over its Standard counterparts, however, I do feel like the boxart here looks awesome and it does make me want to just immediately open this up and just start working on this A.S.A.P! I’m as well am quite impressed with the box itself. Not opting to go the typical kit box design like the ones we typically see with other plamo or Gunpla kits. The Figure Rise LABO goes the Figure box design route, where you can only access the content only after taking off the top lid away for you to be able to access the content of the said item.

Fumina looks pretty awesome here

What’s more, Bandai crammed a lore section here instead of having it on the manual, however, they only dedicate a very small portion for this. Then again, this is a piece that is made for fans. So it kinda made sense why they made the lore section here not as prominent. Plus this is not something that I would see a normie would get.

Though, you will instead learn more of what awesome things that you can expect from the kit and as well they had a much more dedicated section to further explain what is the LABO is all about.

A pretty awesome Labo info at the back of the box and some lore too

It does make me feel like I’m really buying a Figurine model here…though albeit you do need to put her together.

Speaking of the actual content itself, yes, I could honestly say that the content here is as well looking as impressive as its boxart, though if I were, to be honest, it is as well looked pretty morbid at the same time.

Why is the content here is impressive you may ask? Well, the reason for why I was impressed is because of the layered injection Technology that was done on the parts here. Bandai really managed to make the parts for the LABO look quite life like-ish (in the anime-kind of sense, that is), so much so that I would even go as far to say that these parts looked even better than the ones I’ve seen on some of the painted Figurine models.

out of all the parts here, this is one that I find to be most disturbing…..and nice too

Well on the cheaper ones, not the expensive painted kits.

However because they did such a good job at that, the unfortunate thing that has resulted is that it does look like the poor girl looked like she was hacked into pieces and placed in a runner part and being turned into this. Hence why I said it was quite morbid at the same time.

Well at the very least now we know what happened to her after Gundam Build Fighters try series ended.

As we move on to the last bit of this unboxing, the manual. We do find that the manual here is….pretty simple, just like how we experienced with the Figure Rise bust’s manual. There is nothing more here and the building instructions in the manual are pretty straightforward too, really just like how it was with the Figure Rise Bust. As I skim through the pages, it does seem like the building instructions here doesn’t really differ much from the regular Gunpla manuals. For now, so far I really can’t find any fault with the manual.

The only thing here that is simple and nice, reminds me a lot on the Figure Rise Bust one that built.

Maybe after working on it, I may by then know how it actually is.

So far all signs do point to very positive vibes for the LABO and yes, I am starting to really get really excited for the day that I lay my hand on this plastic goodness. As well, since this would be our first Figurine Model. I really hope it would be as good as it looks.

With that ends this round of Unboxing and First Impressions for the Figure Rise LABO Fumina Hoshino! What do you guys think of the Unboxing this time? I wonder if the Bandai experiment with the LABO yields interesting result or will it be a disappointment? That we will know when we get to it, but honestly? This Figure/Kit is really making me really excited.

For good reasons of course.
