HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 470th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll take a short break from our coverage of some of the Shizuoka Hobby Show 2023 Gunpla releases to discuss P-Bandai’s latest release announcement. Yes, we finally have a closer look at that exciting P-Bandai MG GHL kit that we have all been looking forward to getting!
So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?
MG 1/100 Kampfer Schweer (MG)

Release Date: August 2023
Estimated price: JPY 2,530 (MYR RM 205.41* / USD $ 45.27* / EUR € 42.05*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

After taking a long hard look at this P-Bandai exclusive MG kit and going through its promotional materials, we can safely say that this is a highly modified MG Kampfer kit.
Because even with all the extensive upgrades we see here, we still can see some of the old MG Kampfer DNA here. Especially on its Joints and some parts.
But we’re not saying that it’s a bad thing, especially when we are getting an MG kit that looks this good and still is good fun to work on.
But to those unfamiliar with the MG Kampfer, you might be thinking about what new things we are getting here with the MG Kampfer Schweer.

Well, quite a lot, though we admit that most upgrades the MG Kampfer Schweer received here are cosmetic updates.
So, what changes it gets here, you ask? The upgrades made to convert the old Kamfer to the new MG Kampfer Schweer are on the head, chest, manipulator set, and shoulder armor. P-Bandai also made minor updates to the backpack, leg unit, and arm to accommodate new features.
So, yeah, the MG Kampfer Schweer is getting a lot of cosmetic upgrades. But it is still, in essence, the same MG Kampfer.

Although, admittedly, we were a bit disappointed to see the MG Kmapfer Schweer is not a kit that would indicate to us that Bandai would use it as a test base for a Ver.2.0 MG Kamfer. However, its success might spark Bandai’s interest in updating the old MG Kampfer frame.
And seeing how fast the PO page for this closed in P-Bandai shopee page, we wouldn’t be surprised if Bandai strongly considered doing so now.
And yes, that also means that we, unfortunately, weren’t among the ones that managed to preorder this.

And that concludes our 470th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. Though we are happy that we finally get to have a closer look at this P-Bandai kit, we’re, at the same time, quite upset that we didn’t manage to preorder this MG kit.
But we still hope we’d see P-Bandai re-list this again sometime in the future. Or better yet, give us a Ver.2.0 Kampfer.
Anyways. We’ll be back again the next coming Saturday (hopefully) with a new blog post. So, do look forward to that!
