The upgrade that we needed and one that we never thought we needed
HELLO! We are back!
In today’s 500th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we’ll be taking the time to discuss one of P-Bandai’s latest Gunpla release announcements. Although, to be honest? It’s more of an expansion than an actual release.
More specifically, it is an expansion for a few HGTWFM kits.
So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?
HG 1/144 Mobile Suit Gundam The Witch From Mercury MS Expansion Set Part Set 1 (HGTWFM)

Release Date: January 2024
Estimated price: JPY 2,200 (MYR RM 69.70* / USD $ 14.74* / EUR € 13.90*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

YES! Finally!
We thought Bandai had lost interest in releasing new HGTWFM kits after the anime completed its run. With this expansion set release announcement, we are glad they’re still keen on releasing more HGTWFM kits.
Even though, admittedly, we might see future releases locked away as a P-Bandai release.
But enough about that, let’s talk about what we’re getting here, shall we?
So, if you have been watching the last few The Witch From Mercury episodes, you may notice that some of the familiar MS featured in the anime got some minor upgrades, like the Pharact, Darilbalde, and the Michaelis.

So, this expansion set basically gives us all the new upgrades from the anime to the HGTWFM Pharact, Darilbalde, and the Michaelis.
So you get the fantastic Pharact’s twin Beam Machine gun, a new weapon set for Guel’s Dilanza, and the Michealis’s badass F91-inspired Beam Rifle Javelin hybrid. You also get two stands to pose the Darilbalde’s backpack funnels.

But the thing that we didn’t expect to see here is that they even included new beam effect parts for Guel’s Dilanza’s Beam Javelin. Which we admit looked fantastic!
So, yes, we are excited to get this expansion set! Unfortunately, it’s disappointing that this is a P-Bandai exclusive expansion. We’re sure more people would love to get this to expand their existing kit’s arsenal in an easier way.

And that concludes our 500th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. We are sure you guys wonder why we aren’t covering the HUGE SEED Gunpla news and the new kits from the Metaverse series. Honestly? We were overwhelmed by the kits we saw and needed time to process it. Because if we went ahead and talked about it now, we are sure our fanboy side would slobber about how badass these new SEED kits look.
So when we calm down, we will come around to give a proper look and talk about what we think of those kits.
Anyway, we’ll be back next Thursday (hopefully) with a new blog post. So do look forward to it!
