Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.199

Finally, the HWS upgrade is revealed

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 199th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be taking the time to talk about some of the very recent P-Bandai release announcements that was made, on the day that we released the last Let’s Talk Gupla segment.

Yes, we know that we’re supposed to be talking about some of the new Retail release announcements today, but one can’t ignore the awesomeness of the P-Bandai news that we saw on last Thursday.

So, without further ado, let us get into it, shall we?

RG 1/144 FA-93HWS v Gundam Heavy Weapons System Type

Release Date: September 2020

Estimated price: JPY 6,600 (MYR RM 258.69* / USD $ 60.55* / EUR € 53.96*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

This was a piece of P-Bandai news that we are glad that we didn’t have to wait long to hear more of it. Although it should be said that we didn’t expect to see P-Bandai setting the v Gundam HWS release date to be so soon.

Not to mention, we as well didn’t at all expect the v Gundam HWS to look better then what we here was expecting it to be. Not to mention we are as well quite impressed with the fact that they managed to make the HWS system looked insanely detailed too! A look that we here feel fits well with the overall look of the RG v Gundam kit.

The more time we spent staring at this piece of beautiful plastic art the more we find ourselves quite impressed by the amount of work that was done by the design team behind the creation of this RG HWS v Gundam.

But the looks aren’t the only thing that they got right here. The gimmicks of the FA system is as well looking quite impressive here. We are glad to see that they finally managed to do the chest missile pods for the HWS version justice here. Because we here remember how impractical the design of the MG Ver. Ka (thanks to one of our very eagle-eyed commentators on this) chest missile mechanism was, and to see them make the mechanism work practically for the RG version, does put a smile on our face.

We are excited about getting this kit when it comes out this coming September. But we are sure that some of you here might not be as excited to get ANOTHER RG v gundam kit and not to mention too that to some this RG kit will be too insanely expensive to get. But yet you are still quite keen on the idea of having an HWS v Gundam?

Well, worry not, because P-Bandai has you covered there too fam, with this…

RG 1/144 FA-93HWS v Gundam Heavy Weapons System Type Expansion set for the RG RX-93 v Gundam

Release Date: September 2020

Estimated price: JPY 1,980 (MYR RM 77.61* / USD $ 18.17* / EUR € 16.19*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Yes, to those that aren’t all too keen on getting another RG v Gundam on top of the HWS system, P-Bandai as well gives you the option to get only the HWS Expansion set.

Which is as the name suggests, only consists of parts that would enable you to convert your existing RG v Gundams into the badass HWS version.

This is something that we all here feel is a good thing that was done by P-Bandai, considering how bloodthirsty they all are when it comes down to our money. It is nice to see them giving us builders a much more reasonable (-ish) option to get.

But to be frank, the more we spend time staring at this the more we are interested in getting to know how this expansion set would work on the RG v Gundam kit. Will there be some interesting mechanisms in play here? Or will this take the MG FA Gundam route, with P-Bandai giving us the double-sided tapes to hold the HWS armor to the kit?

Regardless of which path it takes with this kit, we do admit that we are looking forward to getting our hands on this badass kit.

With that concludes today’s 199th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment! What do you think of these P-Bandai release announcements? Are you looking forward to these P-Bandai releases? We are really glad that we finally have some interesting P-Bandai releases to talk about. Admittedly we are most excited about getting the full release version of this.

Yes, we are aware that it is going to be something that would make a HUGE dent on our wallets, and not to mention that we aware that we are going to mostly be building the same RG v Gundam all over again here. But to be honest with you guys, we don’t mind it all that much since the RG v Gundam is a kit that is a blast to build regardless.

The only thing that we all here hope for with this P-Bandai RG release is that the HWS part works well with the RG v Gundam. That’s all we here ask from P-Bandai, just make sure the HWS part to work well on the RG v Gundam.

Anyways, we will be back again with more new gunpla related posts next week, starting on Monday! So do look forward to that!
