The RG Impulse might be my favorite Gunpla kit of 2020.
It is nice to back to be back writing about Gunplas after taking a day off from writing and blogging. Ironically the break that I took was supposed to help me focus on working on the RG Impulse. However, as much as I would love to have more time to work on RG Force Impulse, the universe has its way to keep me off from building so I could properly get some good rest by making me fall sick.
But even with that said, I’m still glad that I still managed to find a time that I could use to spend working on this RG kit.
So with that all said and done, let us now get into my initial thoughts on this RG kit, shall we?
For starters, I found myself quite impressed with the whole process of building the Force Impulse’s core fighter. It is clear to me while working on this particular section that I’m in for a ride. From its stunning details to its fun work process, I found out first had here that there is really a lot to love here, and it keeps on getting better from here.
Even its chest unit was a joy for me to work on here. Just like my earlier experience working on the Core Fighter, I was quite immensely impressed with both its level of detail and the whole building process I had to go through while working on this particular section. Which does make me wonder if it would just keep on getting better?
Well, it did! The arm unit, although a bit simple in terms of design but yet Bandai still manages to design it in a way that it still manages to be detailed enough for my liking and as well quite fun to work on here. However, even with that said, the only bit that I didn’t enjoy working on this bit is the Sticker decals. I really wish that they would include waterslide decals with this kit instead of these.
Surprisingly enough, I as well find that the RG Impulse’s head unit quite fun to work on here. Because despite it not having an elaborately detailed inner frame as the rest, but its level of detail seen on the armor bit here and by just how easy it is for me to work on does make this bit as fun to work on as the rest of this kit.
Coming in, I was a bit concerned that turning the completed top half bit of the RG Force Impulse might weaken the joints of this kit, and thus turning it into some flimsy RG mess. However, that wasn’t the case here because I didn’t face any issues with it even as I convert it into this badass mode. What’s more impressive is that even in the Chest Flyer mode, the joints remain sturdy.
That is why as I find myself completing the top half of this breathtaking RG kit, I was already mentally preparing myself to start work on the rest of it even as I sit here writing about it.
It is really a testament to how badass this kit is, even as I find myself completing only the top half of this astonishing RG kit.
Now with that said, it is time for me to get my ass back to building it.
