Eh, more IBO kits, after one year? What?
Hello and welcome to our 56th volume of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment! This week we are back once again talking about P-Bandai, due to the fact that this week they do have some not so interesting announcements, however, there is some good to be had here. Namely because…..
We are getting more Iron-Blooded Orphans HG kits.
It must be said though, it is interesting for us to still see this anime still getting new kits after 1 year, it has been a while since we see a modern Gundam anime that gets this much attention and support from Bandai. We are impressed to see Bandai…oh wait P-Bandai still churning out new releases for the IBO kits still by now. Though…. these kits that we are going to be talking about, are ones that we were expecting to see them being released as a retail, but since Bandai’s retail Division is not picking these up…….
It kind of made sense then to see them released as a P-Bandai….but hey we are still getting IBO kits still right? Right?
Anyways, without further ado, let’s now talk the announcements, shall we?
HG 1/144 EB-06r Graze Ritter [Carta Crops Colours]

Aaah, yes, the Graze Ritter Carta crops variant. When the Carta Issue’s version of this kit was released back in March 2016, we were wondering at first if the cannon fodder normal variants of the Graze Ritter would be released right after it. We waited and waited for it to be released up until till the final episode of the anime for this variant and still nothing. Only after one year since the end of IBO, finally, we are getting this……
As a P-Bandai release, Fuck me.
Anyways, right off from the bat we can see one significant change made to this variant of the Ritter on the shoulder armor of this kit. Yes, if you look into it closely, the shoulder armor parts are made to be a little bit shorter when compared to the original Graze Ritter (the Carta Issue’s version). Oh, yes not to mention they as well gave this variant a different horn set, the one that made this P-Bandai variant of the Graze Ritter have a look that is less ‘spartan’-ish.
The color scheme for this Graze Ritter mostly still maintained the kind of color scheme that was used on the Carta Issue’s version, with just one minor change made to this variant and that is when you take a look at its go-fast stripes. Yes, for this variant to distinguish themselves over the Carta Issue’s variant (and to make it more anime accurate, as well) this variant was given a white go-fast stripe instead of the red stripes that were used on the Carta Issue’s version. Though looking at it does make us wonder since we don’t have any previous experience with any of the HG Graze Ritters (both the P-Bandai’s Mcgillis version or the Retail’s Carta Issue’s version) if this option comes in sticker decal or in a form of a white runner part.
No matter what forms it may take, we do have to admit that the white go-fast stripes on this Graze Ritter do make the kit look dope af
Though it must be said that this is not the only Graze Ritter’s variant that we are getting. Oh, no, we are as well will be getting the…..
HG 1/144 EB-06r Graze Ritter [Mcgillis Corps Colours]

Yes, we are getting the Mcgillis Corps version as well this round. Though we really feel that this variant made more sense to get a P-Bandai treatment since….they had less of the impact as a whole in the storyline…unlike the per say the Carta boy toy squad the Carta Issue’s Corps Graze Ritters.
Anyways, this version of the Graze Ritter is basically the same version of the Cara Corps version of the Graze Ritter, with them sporting all the same types of equipment and weapons…..heck they even share the same Go-fast stripes too! Ha-ha. However, the only thing that sets this variant apart from the Carta corps variant is really, the color scheme.
Yes, the only difference in between this two is really in the color scheme. The Mcgillis Corps versions sports a light blue color scheme on top of the white go-fast stripes instead of the blue-ish green color scheme on the Carta Corps version. Honestly by just from the change of the color alone does make a huge change to its look. It does manage to make the kit more navy-ish in nature and makes the already beautiful and ridiculous look of the Graze Ritter more…realistic…well in a militaristic kind of way. We are really digging this look.
Really looking forward to this one. This probably one of the best looking ones that we really hope to see more of and possibly own.
In conclusion, there isn’t much difference to be had with this two variants and honestly though, if you have built the Retail variant (Carta’s version of this) or the P-Bandai variant (the Mcgillis variant) it might not be one that would be any different in terms of build and action. Even if you are planning to get the Graze Ritter for the first time, the retail variant is probably one that we recommend getting over this version.
However, if you are a collector of the sorts. Oh well, you don’t need me to tell you what to do because you know what we’d do.
Because we would definitely get the both of them expensive P-Bandai HG’s, and yes, we have a problem.
And yes, we really need help. Most likely a financial one. God help us all.
With that ends our 56th episode of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment. Yes, we realize that this round the announcements aren’t as interesting or as impressive as the ones we have in the past few weeks ago. However, this is the kind of announcement that we kind of welcome, though yes it is still a P-Bandai release announcement and yes we know it is going to be bloody expensive. But at the very least, since the retail side wouldn’t bother with these it only made sense that we are seeing these as a P-Bandai and as collectors, we do want to have this in our IBO collection would be a shame. Since these MS do play an important role through out the anime, as a cannon fodder some important plot devices for the story.
Albeit, it is one that involves being made into a pulp by both the protagonist and the antagonist of the series.
