Red Dragon cometh!
HELLO!
We are back again this week with a new edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla and this week we will be talking about the release announcements of some pretty insane P-Bandai KITS! Yes, you heard that right we are back this week covering some sweet P-Bandai news! 😀
And yes, there is some news that we are talking today that has been quite widely known by now due to it being released on the week that we are still drooling over the INSANE Retail announcements. Regardless, we are still going to talk about em, because why not.
So, without further ado let us get into the announcements, shall we? 😀
HG 1/144 MS-14J ReGelgu (Unicorn Ver.) (HGUC)

Release Date: 2019/03
Estimated price: JPY 2,376* (MYR RM 87.87* / USD $ 21.08*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Out of all the Unicorn MS’s that I was expecting to see here to be made into P-Bandai, the Unicorn version of the ReGelgu isn’t really one of the kits that imagine seeing again as a new P-Bandai HGUC kit.
Really, looking back at our coverage on it on the 49th episode (back in April) even though we were quite excited to see it announced and was looking forward to it. But I don’t really think other people are as enthusiastic about it as we did and if we were, to be honest even during the month of its release. Heck, even now I don’t really see this kit getting any coverage or reviews or making huge waves in the Gunpla scene and not to mention I don’t see a lot of people showing off their ReGelgu’s.
So, yeah, it is strange for us to see Bandai is releasing another variant of this kit next year.

However, just like our previous coverage of the ZZ ReGelgu, it’s not to say that we don’t like how this awesome kit looked. In fact, we collectively do like how the ReGelgu looked and honestly we as well think that this is definitely one of the best looking ReGelgu variants yet! But the handsome look of the Unicorn Version isn’t because P-Bandai did anything major to its looks. For the matter of a fact, the Unicorn version of the ReGelgu looks pretty much the same as its ZZ counterpart, well albeit with some minor unicorn parts being added in of course.
So what really sets this kit apart or why is it that we claim that this might be the best version of the ReGelgu yet, you may ask? Well, that we feel would be due to its awesome color scheme. Yes, the color scheme that was used here does make a whole lotta difference here since the purple and dark blue colors of the Unicorn version of the ReGelgu fits better on the ReGelgu then the all red color scheme of the ZZ version of the ReGelgu.

They even added two more weapons to the already impressive range of weapons that the ReGelgu was getting. For this version you are getting the Gaera Doga’s beam machine gun and the Beam Nagiata from the original Gelgoog on top of the same weapons set of the previous version. Though as we are looking at this, we wonder if the beam Machine gun that the ReGelgu is getting is really going to be looking that awesome or if you HAVE to paint em up to make it look that good.
Though if we were to guess, that beam machine Gun definitely looks like it was painted upon to make it look that good and goddamn they did a damn good job in making it look bloody awesome.

Regardless, we do like how the Unicorn ReGelgu looks overall and we might be getting snatch this one up….but since it is releasing during the same month as the MG Dynames………….we might not get this one up on the dot.
HG 1/144 RX-9/B Narrative Gundam with B-Packs Expansion set (HGUC)

Release Date: 2019/04
Estimated price: JPY 1,404* (MYR RM 51.92* / USD $ 12.46*)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

This was one of the kits that we’ve seen P-Bandai teasing right after the official announcement of the Narrative A-Packs but back then we can never really confirm if it would come as a full version or as an expansion set. But now with the official announcement made now we can really confirm that the B-Packs is really coming as an expansion set for the HGUC Narrative Gundam line up!
However, if we were, to be honest…we actually really expecting P-Bandai to release the B-Packs as a full HGUC release, not as an expansion set release. Instead, P-Bandai really managed to surprise us with giving us an expansion set release only this time around! Here we are ready to embrace P-Bandai’s greed and to see them surprising us with a move that we really weren’t expecting them to pull off. We were honestly impressed and really what damn good job you have done this time P-Bandai.

Though it must be said that the B-Packs expansion set does come with some pretty interesting parts here when compared to what we get with the A-Packs of the retail side. It does come with some unfamiliar-familiar parts here, like the Nu-Gundams-ish Fin funnel-like cable attached funnels, the look I cut the Jegan’s shield in half shield missile pod thing and the weirder looking Unicorn-ish backpack unit with funnel things with cables attached to it.
Not to mention, combined with the unfinished look of the Narrative Gundam somehow all of that all of them weird equipment’s mix well with the overall look of the Narrative. We honestly like this weird cacophony of weird weapons and equipment being given to an as well weird looking MS.

With the recent release of the A-Packs version of the Narrative, we do think that P-Bandai times the announcement of this very well since we are pretty sure those that have bought the A-Packs variant would really want to get the B-Packs expansion pack for their already insane A-Packs Narrative Gundam.
Oh, how we all can’t wait to get both the A-Packs and the B-Packs together, combining them both into making the most insane Narrative variant yet.

MG 1/100 MBF-P02 Gundam Astray Red Dragon (MG)

Release Date: 2019/02
Estimated price: JPY 7,560* (MYR RM 279.58 * / USD $ 67.07 *)
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Looking at another MG Astray being announced for next year we can’t help to feel like Bandai has a real hardon for the Gundam Astray line-up since we are getting a lot of the Astray variants being released as Gunpla this year. For an example we have the insane looking MG Astray turn red, the High-Resolution “Beefcake” Astray Red Frame kit and the HGBD No-Name Astray!
Looking at that impressive lineup of Astray variants, we can’t help to feel like it’s not the Unicorn that gets milked to death, the Astray Variants as well is REALLY being milked to death here. Regardless, unlike the Unicorn, the Astray at the very least looked a lot different than its original version and you can see the design evolve as more new variants were introduced throughout the years, and the upcoming MG kit looks to be the best-looking version to date. What MG Astray variant that we are talking about?
Well, my friends, the MG Astray variant that we are talking about this week is the upcoming MG Gundam Astray Red Dragon.

YES, THAT ASTRAY VARIANT! By far one of the most BADASS looking P-Bandai MG kits that are set for release next year. The Red Dragon is really something that really manages to catch us all by surprise by how insanely badass it looked overall. But its not like the Red Dragon Variant had any major changes made to the MG that it was based from. The only thing that P-Bandai did here for the Astray Red Dragon is really giving it some sweet ass looking equipment’s, a new badass head unit and pretty sweet looking decals.
Though like its other Astray predecessors, the Astray Red Dragon’s weapons is the thing that really sets it apart from the rest. That awesome looking beam-magnum-blade thing looked pretty badass and it looked even more badass when you have it attached to the backpack unit. In which made the Astray look like it had dragon wings.

Really, we are quite mesmerized by the awesome look of the Red Dragon. The Astray variants have been one that been associated with insane weapons, but this really takes the insane cake pretty seriously this time. What’s more with the combination of those awesome decals, and the new awesome redesigned Astray head unit really does make the already insane Astray even more insane.
Who would’ve thought that a beam v-fin would look that badass?
Damn this is really one we are quite excited in getting and I’m sure all of you guys here are too. It shows too, with its upcoming February release PO’S closed and P-Bandai already opening PO’s for the second batch set for April release the Red Dragon is looking to be one that would be making waves next year for sure.

Though looking at the Red Dragon, it does make us think of converting it into Astray ‘toothless’ black dragon. Hmm, that would really be one idea that we would really love to explore…

With that ends our 83rd of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, the Astray Red Dragon is really one that is making us having some insane hardon this time around and honestly is one that is HIGH up on 2019’s want to buy list for all of us here in the Homebase next year! We are all really can’t wait to see more of this awesome kit and hopefully it would look as awesome as how the P-Bandai promotional pictures have been making us feel.
Really we better save up for the coming storm of the upcoming insane Gunpla 2019 releases! God, just to think of all the insane MG, HG’s that is coming is really making us quite excited for next year!
Anyways, we will be back again with more Let’s Talk Gunpla Segment on the next coming Wednesday and this Sunday KIMI will be back with the review for the RG Sazabi! So do look forward to that! 😀
