Stopping an ever-growing itch

We’ve been unboxing and reviewing a lot of kits from my backlog in this past few weeks, and to be honest, I have been feeling a bit sick of it all. Not to mention too that I have been fighting with this serious itch to just ditch everything and just to work on a brand new spiffy kit.

In which I do find it to be quite annoying when I’m working on a kit and your mind keeps bothering you with thoughts of getting all of the newly released HG, RG, and MG releases, it really gets in a way on getting everything done on time if I were, to be frank.

So I decided, to temporarily stop unboxing any kits from my existing backlogs and instead move on to Unbox a kit that is recently released, for this week’s unboxing and first impressions segment.

and it is one that I’m really looking forward to since its Release announcement middle of last year…..

Oh, before I forget… Kimi here and today I will be doing an Unboxing and first impression of a very late December 2018 release, the HG 1/144 MSK-008 Dijeh (HGUC) kit.

So without further ado let us get into the Unboxing!

This really was a no-brainer for me.

Why?

Well, ever since me and the boys talked about the HGUC Dijeh way back in August 2018 (Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.68), I admit that I have been quite obsessed with the idea of having this kit in my possession. Which I do find it strange since I wasn’t really a big fan of the MS at all, but yet I was still quite obsessed with owning ’em..

So you can imagine that this has been quite a journey for me and I would admit, that it is hard to be critical about the kit when you are so…well enamored by it. Because to me, this was one of the Kits that I have been looking forward to getting all year long for.

So Imagine my excitement when the kit finally hit Malaysian shores during late December 2018 and how much it has been on my mind all these while… Well when I look back, the release of this kit recently may have been the reason why the progress of some kits that I’ve been working on was a bit slow…ha-ha.

However, it is without saying that the happiness that I felt when I finally have this in my possession, was quite intoxicating.

It wasn’t helped with the fact that it was made even worse when one takes a look at that beautiful box art.

I really took my time with this bit of the unboxing…by not unboxing it

Yes, I admit that even though it has a quite typical looking Mainline HG box art cover and plus with Bandai didn’t really do much here to change or make it stand out like the rest. So, then, you might be wondering, what’s so appealing about the HGUC Dijeh’s box art then, if you still said that it looks quite typical?

Well, I’m glad you asked!

Because all these awesomeness is really from the fact that the HGUC Dijeh really has one of the best Illustrations that I’ve seen thus far! Though I admit that when speaking in terms of quality of the illustration on box arts, I still would say that the RE100 version looked better. But, seriously it would be insane of me not to take into account on how awesome the hand-drawn look on the HGUC Dijeh’s version is. Just looking at the way how the illustrator made the Dijeh look quite battle-hardened here and looked like it has gone through a lot to get where it is, really made the Dijeh look quite the badass, here.

I was really spending hours just staring at that battle scared Dijeh here….

Yes, I admit that the HGUC Dijeh is really starting to win some serious brownie points from me here. But it was winning even more brownie points from me as soon as I take a peek inside, its beautiful insides.

Almost all the runners looked beautifully detailed and not to mention, the color scheme used here on this kit looks pretty awesome. Even though the HGUC Dijeh might not have parts that had the god level detail like the one seen on the HGUC Moon Gundam, but honestly, even with what we are seeing here I admit that the level of detail is pretty darn close.

As well it should be noted that the infamous HG stickers make a return here for the HGUC Dijeh which I admit is a bit of a disappointment for me. But, after looking at how awesome the color separation here, and the fact that it doesn’t really seem like we’d be using a lot of them stickers. I have to say that I really don’t mind it much here, plus it does seem like all of them stickers only is limited to the only section that might need it the most, the head unit. So yeah, it is not all that bad if I were, to be honest.

I don’t remember this particular beam Rifle to look this detailed…

If there is a best-looking vent in an HG Gunpla category I wouldn’t be surprised if this wins, cause just look at that.

I just love the detail seen on the leg unit here…

Plus with that awesome color scheme? Makes this my favorite color scheme ever on a Gunpla kit.

At this point, I admit I was quite baffled, why? I was struggling to find things that I was annoyed with the kit and when I reached the manual bit of this unboxing I thought that I might find something to complain about. but no, because even the manual section is a joy to go through.

Yes, even though on the surface it mostly looked like a pretty standard HGUC manual. But for someone that LOVES going through lores and history, this manual manages to satisfy my curiosity with filling it with a lot of awesome lore in it. They as well filled the manual bits with some useful insight on what to expect with this awesome kit, which I  do admit it kind of helped to increase my excitement for this awesome kit.

Even though they still didn’t take cues from the HGAC’s Leo manual when it comes down to its building instruction mechanic bit for the HGUC Dijeh’s manual. But that isn’t really a big issue, since from what I am seeing here, that the building instruction section was still quite easy to navigate through. So I guess, it’s not bad.

hmm, sexy.

and the rest of the uncolored bits

Overall, I have to say that the kit has been quite impressive so far. Everything about it has been great and really it is hard for me to imagine this kit to be less than stellar at this stage If I have to be honest.

Well, unless if everything is made from paper mache that is.

With that ends this week’s Unboxing and First Impressions for the HG 1/144 MSK-008 Dijeh (HGUC). What do you think of this week’s kit that I just unboxed? Do you yourselves have the same experience as I with this awesome kit?

To be really frank with you guys, I was really struggling to find stuff to criticize here…because there is so much about the HGUC Dijeh that I love! Because just like the HGUC Moon that I built and reviewed last year, this kit does have all the makings of a great kit. Though it might not match the greatness of the HGUC Moon, however, it is not to say that it is not close to HGUC Moon’s awesomeness.

Anyways, we will be back again this week more Let’s Talk Gunpla Segment on the coming Wednesday and we will be back as well on the coming Sunday the review for the  P-Bandai HG 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam (Revive Ver) [21st Century Real Type Colours](HGUC)! So, do look forward to that!
