Let’s Talk Gunpla Vol.368

Why are you P-Bandai?

HELLO! We are back!

In today’s 368th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will be looking at a surprising HGUC Gunpla teaser announcement that comes from the P-Bandai side.

Honestly, it is one that we all can’t figure out why it is getting a P-Bandai treatment.

So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we?

The Rumor Mill: HG 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam (Cucuruz Doan’s version) & MS-06 Zaku II (Doan’s Custom) (HGUC)

Release Date: TBA
Estimated price: TBA
*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Honestly, we do not mind that these two get that P-Bandai treatment.

But the one thing that baffles us is that for the first MS design from the Gundam the Origins series to be adapted to the HGUC lineup, why isn’t the retail side the ones to actually release this kit? Why let P-Bandai have this? Why didn’t they announce this as a P-Bandai HG Origins kit instead?

Plus, we do not understand Bandai’s logic in justifying the two leading MS in the Cucuruz Doan arc getting the P-Bandai treatment.

All they managed to do here is that they’re most likely going to cut normies off from the possibility of getting this.

It’s a shame because these two we know they’re going to be banging HGUC kits. Because we have a feeling that it would just be a rebadged HG Origins kit in the HGUC box, and that is not a bad thing since those are fantastic kits.

But despite that said, maybe there is a good reason for them doing this because it may be an indication from Bandai that they’re planning to release the standard variant of both the Origins Zaku II and the origins Gundam as an HGUC release sometime soon? Because just maybe, they already had plans to release the whole Gundam the Origins Amuro arc as an anime?

Whatever it is that they’re planning for here, for now? Having these two MS designs making their debut as a P-Bandai kit isn’t a good move from Bandai. They could’ve just instead had this released as a retail kit.

With that concludes our 368th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. With the Hobby Next event coming next week, we know that we will see more of these two when the event starts. But if they’re planning to release this as a P-Bandai HGUC release, we do wonder how different it is when compared to its HG Origins counterpart.

Hopefully, it’ll be as good or better as its HG Origins version. At the very least, that is the least that we expect them to do.

Anyways, we will be back again next week (hopefully) with a new blog post. So, please do look forward to that!
