HELLO! We are back! 

In today’s 396th edition of our Let’s Talk Gunpla segment, we will look at P-Bandai’s latest Gunpla release announcement! Today we finally have word on the next entry of the P-Bandai G-Unit Re: Operation HGAC series!

From the looks of it, we are finally getting the HGAC Germinass variant we all want! 

So, without further ado. Let us get into it, shall we? 

HG 1/144 OZX-GU01 LOB Gundam L.O. Booster (HGAC)

Release Date: October 2022

Estimated price: JPY 4,180 (MYR RM 134.46* / USD $ 30.31* / EUR € 30.13*)

*The price is subject to change, depending on the situation

Finally, after a long wait, we now get the modern version of the badass Gundam L.O. Booster! 

Yes, after the release of the Gundam Aesculapius, this is the other variant of the modern HGAC Germinass family that we all looked forward to seeing its latest iteration. And after spending time going through all its promotional materials, we have to say that we are impressed by what we all see here! 

Because it clearly looked like to us that P-Bandai went all out here! 

Yes, even though it retains some of the same looks and gimmicks as the original HGAC Germinass, it is clear that P-Bandai does a lot of work to change it up here. 

So what new things that P-Bandai made changes to here? Well, to put it this way, the only bits P-Bandai retains from the original HGAC Germinass 01 are its arm and back waist armor. 

Yes, that means they almost overhauled the whole thing. 

Why P-Bandai think there is a need to overhaul the HGAC Germinass 01 base? Is it because they needed to fix some of the issues that the HGAC Germinass 01 has?

No. 

Apparently, the real reason why (we think) they decided to overhaul the HGAC Germinass 01’s parts is so they can enable it to transform into the Gundam Wing-like flight mode properly, unlike its predecessors. 

But we do wonder if converting to that mode reduces its stability? Or if P-Bandai has made enough changes to it to ensure its stability? Well, we’ll see if that is the case as soon as we have the HGAC Gundam L.O. Booster in our hands. 

We are also impressed by the new backpack unit and the weapons that the HGAC Gundam L.O. Booster gets here. We think the beam effect gimmick of the shoulder cannons looks fantastic, and we liked how they managed to make the backpack unit look color accurate to the manga version. We also like how the weapons look too! 

We are really impressed and also quite excited with the idea of getting this HGAC kit! 

So does that mean we managed to preorder this HGAC kit? Well, no. Like our previous preordering experiences, we were pretty late to the preorder party. By the time we noticed it, it was already too late. 

But if P-Bandai decides to reopen the preorder window, you can bet that we will be there to preorder it. Hopefully, we’d have a better time trying to preorder this. 

And that concludes our 396th edition of the Let’s Talk Gunpla segment for today. Again another pretty impressive showing from the P-Bandai side. Although this makes us wonder, why aren’t all of these badass releases get shown during the recent Hobby Next Phase 2022 Summer event? 

Wouldn’t that be the best platform to really build the hype for all these badass kits?
